Jox by Thom McAn 70s orange & brown retro runners

FEBRUARY 2020 POST UPDATE:

We just restored these Jox vintage sneakers and they now look like this…

If you’re interested in the restoration process we posted about it on the blog here.

The old post is below:

Jox orange & brown retro runners by Thom McAn circa late 1970s

The Jox sneaker line was introduced around 1972 as an athletic footwear inspired sub-brand of Thom McAn and spanned the late 70s and early 80s. Thom McAn attempted to recapture the magic with a Jox comeback in the 90s but the line, with a new cheesy logo, didn’t last very long.

One of Jox claims to fame is that it was the preferred footwear of Steve McQueen, the super badass action film star of his day. He wore Jox sneakers in his 1980 movie “The Hunter.”

For more info on vintage Jox sneakers I posted a another pair of their sneakers here and a bunch of their vintage ads here, here, here, here, here AND here.
